2nd line Support Sage Line 500

Sage L500, Informix, SQL Server, AIX, TCP/IP

Acting within a team support staff, the primary duties of this role will be as second-line support to the Sage Line500 IT Helpdesk. The system being supported is Sage Line500 which is an SME integrated business system and is running primarily on IBM RS6000 Servers, AIX operating system and Informix RDBMS database. There are currently also two instances of Sage Line500 running on SQL Server.

Key skills:

• Informix Online RDBMS operations, basic admin and data management.
• SQL & Shell-Scripting programming skills (Informix & Korn Shell).
• Performance monitoring – database and server.
• AIX operating system and basic system administration including printer set-up and support.
• SQL Server (data manipulation and database support).
• Networking, including basic TCPIP.
• Sage Line500 application knowledge.

The role would be based Surrey, but candidates may be expected to travel to other sites on occasions.
