SYSTEM CONFIGURATOR – CIRCA £30K. WEST MIDLANDS, PERMANENT.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Experience of working with relational databases
- Advanced knowledge of writing queries using SQL
- Advanced knowledge of MS SQL Enterprise Manager
- Experienced in XML and JavaScript
- Some exposure to HTML, VB.NET
- Knowledge of database security and encryption
- Awareness of web design
- Experience of Web Services and integration with 3rd party applications such as email, finance and in-house databases
- Skills in optimising large and complex databases (indexing, optimisation, joins, views)
OTHER SKILLS:
- Keenness to expand the role and gain new skills within software development
- Appreciation of the end user experience, from both internal and external user aspects
- Strong testing skills
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Ability to contribute ideas to the team and share knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to learn independently and maintain awareness of rapidly developing solutions and technologies
- Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally
